Who is Blackpink who smashed the record for the fastest YouTube video to reach 100 million views?
My first introduction to KPOP was to BTS a couple of years ago. Since then the entire family has been jamming to NCT127, EXO, GOT7, SEVENTEEN, STRAY KIDS and of course, BLACKPINK.
When Blackpink released their latest track Kill This Love, we watched with amazement as those YouTube views just skyrocketed. With every refresh of the screen, those view numbers changed dramatically and, before we knew it, Blackpink’s Kill This Love becomes the fastest YouTube video to reach 100 million views smashing PSY’s Gentleman record. Apperently this was done in 2 days and 14 hours (can’t officially confirm this exact figure at the time of writing this…)
According to vidIQ, at one point, it had more than 2.2m views per hour!
