How to link your Amazon Prime to Twitch – all the steps you need to know
For those of you who don’t watch 14 hours of Fortnite gameplay or know what COD stands for these are the steps to link your Amazon Prime account to your Twitch account, or most probably, to your kid’s Twitch account!
So a common question I get is all about Twitch and Fortnite skins and “what is in-game loot” so I thought it would be best to put this how to guide together:
What is Twitch Prime?
Twitch is the popular live stream platform which has over 10 million monthly visitors who can watch over 2 million streamers. Twitch was originally focused on allowing gamers to stream their games and has since branched out a bit allowing for more live streaming of chat-shows, music and art and even “tv style shows” but gaming is still their key focus.
Some of the 2 million streamers are members of the Twitch Partner program so they earn money on the platform. Unlike YouTube where subscribing to channels is free, on Twitch you pay so that the streamers can earn a percentage from that subscriber fee. They also get tips and donations and of course do sponsorship deals with brands. Arguably, the most famous Twitch streamer is Ninja who is said to earn over $500 000 per month according to Times
In 2014, Twitch was bought by Amazon.
We know of Amazon Prime and beyond the 2-day free shipping, one of the benefits is called Twitch Prime and as soon as you connect your Amazon Prime account with your Twitch account, you get a bunch of features on Twitch at no additional cost as well as what Amazon does best – get discounts and games at special rates.
For example: On Twitch you can follow anyone for free, but if you want to subscribe to a channel, there is a cost. With Twitch Prime you get one channel subscription every 30 days. When you subscribe you get channel-specific subscriber perks such as chat privileges, emoticons, badges.
You also get in-game loot in popular games such as PUGB and Fortnite. In game-loot is essentially game specific bonuses such as a unique glider in Fortnite or heroic uniform in Call oF Duty WWII. It’s benefit that you get because you are a Twitch Prime user. These in-loot game options also change often.
Who can get Twitch Prime?
Twitch Prime is available with Amazon Prime in US, Mexico, Canada, Italy, France, Germany, Belgium, Austria, Spain, Japan, Singapore, Netherlands, United Kingdom, and Australia.
If you have just Prime Video, then this list grows to over 200 other countries and territories.
