Why the Turtle Beach Recon 70 gaming headset is a game changer

Things get serious quickly. I have a team to lead and this mission is difficult. It’s going to take a combination of stealth and coordinated team-work to achieve our objective. The team leader knows what to do and issue commands as we fan out to set up an ambush. This is going to be epic!
When it comes to playing multi-player online games, I certainly fall into the “push lots of buttons” category but it’s still a fun outlet. While I am no gaming pro, I will say the just like everything in life, having the right equipment certainly makes a difference. Besides having a nice fast internet connection, when you play in a team, you need to have good comms.
I learnt that the hard way when my teammates left me behind (nice hey?!) because they couldn’t hear me so I became a liability as I wasn’t part of the squad. I hate to admit it, but they were right.
I was recently sent the Turtle Beach Recon 70 gaming headset and have been putting that through its paces.
The versatility:
The Turtle Beach Recon 70 connects via a 3.5mm connection. Which means I can use it on my phone, on my Nintendo Switch, on my PS4 and then plug it into my PC. One headset, multiple gaming platforms.
Clearly, I am not the only one who appreciates this!
When I am not playing games, and switch on my music, the headphone pumps out some decent sound through the high-quality 40mm speakers that seem to block out the distracting noises. This allows me to focus on my work. I also enjoy listening to podcasts on these headsets as the spoken audio is crystal clear.
When I game, these headphones let me get lost in the game and those gaming audio jump-scare scenes really do make me literally jump!
The comfort:
One element that I usually struggle with is finding a decent headphone that is comfortable for hours of game-play. The Turtle Beach Recon 70 has a great over the ear cushion design which is adjustable and the headset is light enough to the point where you don’t feel like you are wearing these at all.
I can’t tell you how many times I got up from the computer to make another cup of coffee totally forgetting that I was still tethered to the computer’s 3.5mm jack!
The mic:
Bringing down the mic enables it and your team can hear every word, every whisper and of course, every curse word too…yeah…that happens. However, when you are going in deep cover in stealth mode and only the team leader talks, you can flip up the mic which instantly mutes it. A cool little trick.
So in Summary:
I love the fact that you don’t have to spend a fortune to get a premium experience.
I can see why parents love this headset for their kids and why it’s a worthy successor to the Turtle Beach Recon 50. My advice to any wannabe gamer is not to settle for those in-ear headsets that arrived with your cell phone. Yes, you can still hear the game, but when you have the Beach Recon 70, you get an entire gaming experience and you will never look at your games the same again!
