What am I going to buy for Christmas?
This is usually a question that people start to wrestle with right around Thanksgiving. There are obvious presents for the usual people, and then there are “the tricky ones”. Those are the people who are typically very difficult to shop for. The one type of person who falls into this category is the tech-savvy guy who seems to have every gadget under the sun.
If you have one of those on your list, then I have the perfect solution: The Philips Sonicare DiamondClean Smart Electric Toothbrush which is a life-changer and available at Bed, Bath and Beyond.
Toothbrush with an app?
One of the biggest issues when it comes to looking after our oral health is that we simply don’t know when we are doing it correctly. We think we are – but we just don’t know. We follow the advice our parents taught us and we pass on that advice to our kids. My kids disappear into the bathroom and reappear moments later saying they brushed. How well? Did they get every spot? Are they rushing correctly? I have no idea.
This is where the Sonicare toothbrush stands out as it takes the guesswork out of brushing by using its smart sensors to map the brushing in real-time so you can visually see it on the app.
For the first time, you are able to see exactly where you are brushing, which areas you are missing, which teeth you are not brushing correctly, and it even lets you know when you are pressing too hard so you can avoid receding gums damage.
Using the Sonicare DiamondClean is simple and effective
Philips has designed the toothbrush to be simple and effective so no need to call your tech support (ie. Your kids):
- Step 1 – Download the app.
- Step 2 – Switch on your phone’s Bluetooth.
- Step 3 – Open the app and follow the prompt.
That’s it. Now your toothbrush is connected to your app and from this point, the app holds you accountable!
When you are ready to brush your teeth, launch the app and take the Sonicare toothbrush out of its glass cup which, by the way, is also its wireless charging station – how awesome is that?!
Select what you would like to do: deep plaque clean or gum care or stain removal for whiter teeth. Each one of these tasks has a different brush head and the moment you put that onto your Sonicare toothbrush, it detects the process and sets up the app to guide you through the process to achieve that result!
It’s like having your own personal oral hygienist standing with you.
Now brush as usual and instantly you see in the app a diagram of your mouth with indicators showing you where to brush. If you are moving too fast, the app will tell you to use less motion, if you are pressing too hard, the app will tell you that too (and there is also a purple light on the brush itself to tell you to use less pressure). If you miss a spot or need to go back to a specific region, the app will tell you that too.
Why does this work?
I have been using this Sonicare toothbrush for a while now, and it works because of the accountability and it enforces a change in behavior.
- Accountability – every time I brush my teeth, the app will award me points for a good brushing, for flossing, for using mouthwash, and cleaning my tongue. It also maps on a calendar the number of times I brush each day.
- Behavior – from the time I was a kid, I brushed in a way I thought was correct. Turns out some 40 odd years later, I was brushing incorrectly, way too fast, and using way too much pressure. After using the Sonicare toothbrush for only 2 days, I have been training myself to slow down and hit every spot.
Visually seeing all the various areas in your mouth that you are missing or not paying enough attention to, allows you to correct your brushing techniques which not only leads to an overall fresh mouth look but also keeps you out of the dentist’s chair.
Grab the Sonicare toothbrush today, add it to your nice-list and make that tech-savy special someone smile. In this case, literally.
Gotta love when your gadgets are smarter than we are! #client
