Print your photos with just an email and the HP Advantage

Towards the beginning of this year HP introduced us to an expanded portfolio of new HP DeskJet Ink Advantage printers. The Techie Guy was lucky enough to be invited to take part of a graffiti tour of Johannesburg and so Clare Matthes took advantage (see what I did there Winking smile ) of the opportunity to not only see Joburg form the eyes of the artist but also see what her images would look after they were printed.

HP delivers the Advantage

This is Clare’s report:

HP invited me on a graffiti tour of Johannesburg’s Maboneng and I was encouraged to take as many photos as I possibly could. Cleverly, when the tour was completed, HP had set up a few printers, so I could print my pics there and then. Needless to say, it was too much fun printing a physical copy of my snaps myself.

HP promised that the set up of these printers was foolproof. We were in luck, we had a fool on the team – me, and we proposed a little “fooling” around. Set up was so easy. I plugged in my demo model, followed a few prompts on the printer’s 5.5cm mono touchscreen display and that was that. The answers to any of my queries were available and visible, so there was no need to read the manual or Google a tutorial. But let’s face it, who does that?

When I sent the printer an email to print, (the printer’s unique email address was printed out at the set-up stage) it immediately recognized attachments and printed those out too. Scanning, copying, everything was just a breeze.

Jane Geypen, of HP, tells me that, “Families are becoming ‘mobile first’ and need affordable, easy-to-use printers that meet their increasingly connected lifestyles.

“Whether on the table in the kitchen, or laptop in the home office, the new line of printers provides flexible printing solutions and high-quality printing for both personal or professional projects.”

Printing from your mobile is simple – check

  • According to HP, the 5575 All-In-One, which is the printer I tested, requires an easy five minute installation – check!
  • It offers users the possibility to print wirelessly from smartphones and tablets – check!
  • You get consistent, high-quality prints, and really do save with low-cost Original HP ink – check!
  • delivering borderless, lab-quality photos and crisp documents for both personal and business use – check and check!

HP delivers the Advantage

I really appreciated the effectiveness of the HP All-in-One Printer Remote mobile app, which made printing from my phone so easy. Open the app, pick a snap and print – a couple of seconds later, there it sits in the printer’s tray.

I do also need to mention the quiet mode for areas that might be noise conscious. I thought this a handy setting to be able to implement.

All in all, I found this printer an easy fit for my lifestyle and could imagine it’s an easy fit for anyone. User-friendly, great quality printing and affordability are all wrapped up in the HP package.
