1 million Dollar guarantees your documents are safe
Its a long trip with many miles to cover. After several gas stops refilling the vehicle it was getting getting late and a check into a hotel was urgently required for some much needed sleep. Mary walked to the check-in counter at the hotel only to realise she left her purse which was now hundreds of miles away back at home. In her purse was her ID. Without it the hotel would not allow her to check in. Luckily Mary had her smartphone and she logged into her PaperworkLockbox account where all her important documents were and was able to access her ID.
I was told this story by Mary Dauteuil and Susan Cast, two of the founders of the Paperworklockbox system. “Paperworklockbox system is designed to help anyone who has to deal with important and confidential information. These could be personal documents such as medical records, birth certificates or business records such as contracts and client information. Instead of having a paper copy, the system allows for safekeeping and filing of these documents in a highly secure area”.
Paperworklockbox is an online document storage and management system. Having access to sensitive information from anywhere in the world gives its users the peace of mind. Susan confirms that if one loses their passport and they have an electronic copy which contains the relevant serial numbers, a new passport could be issued fairly quickly. However if no electronic copy of the passport is available then the process is much more laborious and time consuming.
When it comes to storing our information online we tend to trust various cloud services such as Google Drive, Sky Drive, Dropbox etc. But how safe are these? Who has access to these? Do the terms and conditions for us using these free services allow them to read our documents ? so the obvious question – how is PaperworkLockbox system different to other regular cloud storage services such as Google Drive or Dropbox ? Clearly this is something that they have been asked before as they both said: $1 million dollars security.
Paperworklockbox is such a secure system that in the event of any account being hacked, they will pay $1 million dollar per account that was hacked. Essentially the big difference between this system and the other cloud storage solution is the way they approach security.
“PaperworkLockbox has 2048 bit encryption, 256 Extended Validation SSL Certificate which is one of the strongest authentication standards available today. Banks use it, Healthcare uses it” The documents are not only encrypted while they are stored on the server but they are also encrypted “during transit”. This means that while accessing the system over the free coffee shop WiFi, should anyone attempt to monitor the data flowing in and out of your computer they would not be able to gain access to your information as it is being transmitted from the PaperworkLockbox system.
Even when the data is on the PaperworkLockbox server it is not sitting besides another account’s data as each company get their own dedicated server for their information.
The system has been in the making for over three years during which time advisors across various industries were brought in to consult on what their industry would require. With each consultation the system developed and became stronger and more secure to better serve customers from those industries. All programming was done in the USA and not outsourced to programmers in a foreign country which is one of the reason the system is PCI certified.
So in Summary:
Those of us who travel frequently have become accustomed to scanning our passport, hotel vouchers and airline reservations onto our phones and storing these online. What PaperworkLockbox has done is expand this thinking to not just the temporary documents during travel but to safeguarding our essential documents that we gather throughout our lives.
Not having paper means that not only do we have a much better filing system, but our information is also safer. During natural disasters such as tornados or flooding our physical paper document could be lost however we could rebuild using our electronic copies.
