Podcast: Civic will protect our digital life for free
We are a just a Login Username and a Password. Everything is just a series of 1s and 0s stored in the cloud waiting for us to transact. Our currency is no longer physical but embedded on a piece of plastic card in our wallet so we can shop with ease. We tend to lay our lives out for the world to see on social media and there are still those people who use “12356789” or “password” as their password.
Its no wonder that identity fraud has become such a massive issue. Thieves are no longer armed with a gun and a mask but with laptops and an Internet connection as they use their skills to steal people’s identities. A recent story on My Broadband showed how people were scammed by fraudsters out of R250 000 while trying to purchase their first home.
Because we are digital wanting to protect our online identity should be a no-brainer and must have solution.
But are we just being paranoid or is this really a problem that is just going to get worse ?
Someone who specialises in this Vinny Lingham, founder and CEO of the hottest new start-up Civic.com – a company launching in the Spring of 2016 who’s mission is to protect everyone’s digital identity.
