In South Africa, we get really sensitive when it comes to our freedom and freedom of expression. I suppose that is not surprising remembering our country’s not-so-past history. so when we hear the Film and Publication Board looking to censor and monitor our internet usage we are outraged !

But we tend to get outraged amongst our friends over the Sunday Braai and just mumble quietly the rest of the week.

So on Talking Tech on CliffCentral, we wanted to get a better understanding of what is the Film and Publication Board and especially what is their intention with the Online Regulation Policy. Do they have a role to play in today’s connected world? We also wanted to find out how the board is involved in protecting our kids from porn, violence, hate speech and other  creeps online.
