How to access Netflix hidden channels
With Netflix there seems to be two layers that allow the viewer to access the vast array of content. There is the official menu that allows you to search and navigate though the channels. This is perfect if you know what you would like to watch. However, there is so much content that we can get lost and sometime need help breaking down the option into more bite-able chunks. This is where the “hidden genre” search is powerful.
Essentially a channel on Netflix is a URL. Therefore if you want to check out content broken down by a genre, then you can manually enter the URL in this format: http://www.netflix.com/browse/genre/CHANNEL
You replace the CHANNEL with a code that will take you to that genre of movies. For example:
- 8985 = Martial Arts Movies
- 2125 = Military Action & Adventure
- 7442 = Adventures
- 10118 = Comic Book and Superhero Movies
- 7700 = Westerns
- 10702 = Spy Action & Adventure
- 9584 = Crime Action & Adventure
There are thousands of these code and these are available on the Whats On Netflix movie site.
If this is too complicated, or you just want a simpler way, then install the Super Browse Chrome Add-on that will reveal those hidden extended categories;
