There is this thing called a Super Bowl that is happening in San Francisco in February – apparently its a big thing in the USA… something to do with several teams bashing each other as they touchdown  running over the opponents end zone. Clearly something this South African needs a serious crash course in!

As thousands of fans begin their pilgrimage from across the country to San Fran to the Must have apps when heading to the Superbowlgames, technology steps in and assists in making the entire experience a much more pleasant one.

On Route to the Super Bowl:

Gas prices in the US are not Government regulated as in other parts of the world. Therefore each gas station is able to charge whatever rate they deem is acceptable and this can vary dramatically. This allows you to see the price of gas around as you meander through towns and cities so you can decide where its cheaper to fill up.

If you use Google maps, you can also use the Gas icon to see the prices of gas stations along your route. Simply enter your destination and begin to navigate. Then press on the Magnifying Glass icon and select Gas Stations. Google will now show you the price that you will pay at the pump.

During the Super Bowl:

One thing you can count on is that you are going to be surrounded by hundreds of other fans who too have journeyed to watch their favorite teams. Thousands of more fans who did not get their hands on match tickets are going to be hanging out in parks and venues making coordinating a meeting place with family and friends challenging.

  1. Great article! If you’re one of the many people travelling to the area and are not familiar with the scene, then I always like handy TripAdvisor to scope out the best restaurants and other To Do’s near by.
