Incredible Connection launches new ecommerce features – Win R1000 voucher too !

In South Africa we don’t have a catalogue culture. We don’t order by mail and we don’t have the equivalent of Argos from the UK where you shop by numbers out of a thick book. We are tactile people and we like to touch and feel every product we buy. When it comes to buying online, this, along with trusting the online shop not to steal out credit card info, are some of the reasons that are hampering e-commerce in South Africa.  According to a recent survey conducted by Arthur Goldstuck’s World Wide Worx , e-Commerce is growing at a rate of around 30% which could be increase should online retailers take into account the various concerns cited by South Africans. According to E-commerce, Ipsos, on behalf of PayPal and FNB, 2015: “Key drivers that would encourage South African online shoppers to shop on line more often are lower product costs (88% of online shoppers say this would make them more likely to shop online), faster delivery (selected by 85% of online shoppers), flexible delivery options (selected by 82% online shoppers) and safer ways to pay (selected by 75% online shoppers).”

Tackling this online market is Incredible Connection whose ecommerce site has seen a ten fold increase in its online business over the last 3 years. On the 25th May, Incredible has launched their new website making it even easier and safer for customers to shop.

Some of the new features on the site include a Click&collect option. This allows customers to purchase any item online, but still come into a store and touch the product to ensure it is the one they want. Of course customers can have their purchases delivered to them too .

Incredible has a “suggest” feature so customers can create their own product bundles and add accessories to it. Future plans include allowing customers to upgrade components on laptops and desktops all via the site giving customers the flexibility to play with the price and components to get the best deal for themselves.

To alleviate the fear of making a mistake or buying the incorrect product, there is now a live help option that allows customers to text-chat with “Techxperts” who will offer advice. This is a great feature that will assist anyone wanting to purchase items that are not standard such as HDMI cable or a new keyboard. Having that peace of mind is critical when making your tech buying decision.

Being able to pay with other methods besides a credit card will also help. Incredible now accepts eBucks, Discovery Miles and UCount rewards planned for the near future. This gives customers choices and another outlet to spend those various reward points which just seem to collect dust in a virtual wallet somewhere.

What we need in SA are ecommerce website that rival those in the US and Europe where customers feel confident and secure to purchase online. Incredible has taken that next step in their online evolution to try make that shopping experience that much more…incredible. (sorry I couldn’t resist)
