how to use ebay instant selling feature 2018

How to use the new eBay Instant Selling smartphone feature and what you need to watch out for!

How many old smartphones do you have laying around the house simply because you upgraded your phone? If you are like me, then you have several fully working phones just collecting dust so let’s use the new eBay instant selling feature!

We know we should sell them but the thought of dealing with phone calls from strangers and meeting dodgy people to sell your phone is a bit of a nightmare. I also hate thinking I am going to be scammed as there are so many of those going around too [read: the PayPal scams]. Therefore, the phones remain in cupboards and drawers until we eventually throw them out or donate them.

eBay has recognized that not everyone wants to upload their phone and deal with the bidding and auctioning process, so they created a new feature: the eBay Instant Selling phone feature.

Here is how to use the new eBay Instant Selling smartphone feature:

Step 1: go to eBay.com/s/phone
Step 2: Enter your device info, determine if it’s eligible for Instant Selling
Step 3: Add images. Click List and accept terms
Step 4: Receive your instant voucher, which can be used toward the purchase of a new device on eBay
Step 5: Ship your phone quickly with a dedicated eBay shipping label you print off yourself

That’s it!

Now of course you can get more money for your phone if you sell it privately but then you have to deal with all of that and my guess is that if you really wanted to, you would have done it by now. I haven’t.

You can also trade your phone into your service provider, but I am not so sure you will get as much as when you use the eBay Instant Selling phone feature. The nice thing is that you can get a value on your phone BEFORE you commit to selling it, so you know how much to expect when it’s all done. If you don’t like that number, shop it around until you get the best deal, but in all likelihood, you will return for the most hassle-free way to sell your old tech.

I would rather have the cash and put it towards a new device vs having it simply collecting more dust.
