Recently BlackBerry fans around the world rejoiced when the much-anticipated update from 10.3.0 to 10.3.1 was finally released. But why the big fuss ? it hardly sounds like a major update and by software versioning standard it is deemed as “minor” (3.0 to 3.1).
BlackBerry 10 users have had “big” updates in the operating system software in a relatively short period that BlackBerry 10 operating system has been around . Each update comes with new features and enhances previous ones.
There have been some misleading headlines after the 10.3.1 update saying BlackBerry users can finally run Android Apps. This is not true. BlackBerry users have been able to run Android apps since 10.2.0. The only difference is that now it is easier for the BlackBerry user to simply install Android Apps from the pre-loaded Amazon Android App Store and each app is pre-checked for viruses with BlackBerry Guardian before it is allowed to be installed.
