Brace yourself.

The South African market is about to radically change with in the next 48 hours (give or take). In August we were told that Xiaomi mobile phones will be coming to South Africa “soon” and the soon is now set for the 27th of November 2015.

But there is a catch.

Mi phones will be gone in a Flash

You can’t line up at your favourite mobile phone store and pick up your device as Xiaomi or Mi as it is known outside of China, will be sold only online via the distributor website in a Flash Sale format.

Anyone who wants a Mi device, will have to pre-register to be able to have the opportunity to purchase the Mi 4. Then on the 27th of November from 10am, all those who registered will be required to log into their account and wait until 12:00 where the official sale will start. The sale will continue until each and every unit is sold.

“This is the fairest way to allocate the limited amount of stock on day one, and assures that those most eager to get a Mi 4 quickly, can get one with a bit of online effort”, said Kerry Taoushiani, the Group’s Marketing Executive.

Registration for the flash sale are still available and until 23:59 on Thursday 26 November 2015 so if you are in the market for a new phone with decent specs for R3799, best you secure your place ASAP.
