Google to buy Augmented Reality and Face Recognition company

Google buys Viewdale

Google is back on its shopping spree and rumor has it that is is looking at purchasing an Augmented reality and facial recognition software company called Viewdle.

If you recall I reported in June that Facebook purchased an Israeli company Face.com that allows its users to automatically tag people based on their pictures.

Google has clearly recognised that this is a feature that users want and is currently missing across all their platforms including Android and Google+.

As Viewdle is also an Augmented reality company, we could see enhanced services running on top of Google’s mapping services too.

We wait in anticipation
