Blackberry 9320 in South Africa

Blackberry Curve 9320

I have been using the 9380 for a while now and I am excited to hear about the availability of the new BlackBerry Curve 9320 in South Africa.

The BlackBerry Curve 9320 is said to have longer battery life to support the 3G and Wi-Fi connectivity which is needed for the the messaging and social features that are built into the phone such as the preloaded apps for Facebook and Twitter.

Unfortunately the Curve 9320 will not have the new Blackberry Operating system (as that is delayed to 2013) but it does have the BlackBerry 7.1 Operating System which includes a Mobile Hotspot support.

“This new BlackBerry Curve model is designed to make it incredibly easy for customers to be socially-connected and we expect it will be especially popular with young people.” Rui Brites, Director Product Management for RIM in South Africa.

A cool feature the new Social Feeds 2.0 app that allows to post updates to multiple social networks simultaneously and then consolidated social apps and instant messaging apps all in one view.

South Africa’s favourite app is the FM radio which the 9320 has built in and does not use any data services.

So until I get my hands on the 9320, I will stick with my faithful BlackBerry 9380 under my hat…literally:
