So it seems that shopping for Christmas gifts isn’t as hard as it used to be – that is if you have all the cash in the world and know where to get all the latest gadgets – kids want iPads ! Surprise surprise…
According to a Nielsen survey, conducted in October, it found that 44% of kids ages 6 – 12 wanted an iPad in the next six months, 30% wanted iPod Touch, and 27% want an iPhone. I can hear Apple smiling from here…
Interesting to see that the e-readers for for 6- 12 year olds came in at 17% and was ranked number 3 at 18% for kids 13+ – does this mean children can still read ? Maybe e-reader has made it cool again !
Another interesting stat to note is that Tablet (non-ipad) came in at virtually the exact same percentage as Computer (25% in kids 6-12 and 17% vs. 18% in kids aged 13+) So it seems like there is still a demand of a computer in the day where we are lead to believe the that Tablet is king.
