Have you ever looked at your Blackberry phone and all of a sudden there is a new icon on the home screen that you have no idea what it means ?

Here are some strange icons that I have been asked to diagnose which are not listed on the Blackberry website (see below for link)

The “dots in diagonal when when making a phone call icon” :

This is the Enhanced Audio icon.

To set change the Audio option when dialling: click the Green dial Button(), Blackberry button (), Options, Enhance Menu

The “yellow globe icon”:

A yellow globe is a Message that has a webpage saved in it. If you open your phone’s web browser and go to any webpage and then click on the Blackberry button(), and select from there Save Page. It will save that page as a Message.

If you go to your message list, you will see the same Globe Icon next to that message. If that message is marked as unread the yellow globe appears.

To get rid of it: go to your message list, find the message with the Globe Icon and delete it.

The “1 with circle and down arrow icon”:

This is a notification that an application that you have installed on your phone needs to be updated. Click into App World and see which program needs to be updated.

The “1 blue f” icon:

This is a Facebook notification. Open Facebook app and see what the new message is.
